Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 80–85% lean
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 4 slices cheddar cut into squares
  • Pickle slices and red onion
  • Mini buns optional
  • Burger sauce ketchup, or mustard

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Oven-safe tray or cooking vessel
  • Measuring tools
  • Serving utensils

Method

  1. Step 1: If using wooden skewers, soak in water for 20 minutes. Shape beef into evenly sized small portions without packing tightly.
  2. Step 2: Season beef with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire; thread onto skewers with a little space between pieces.
  3. Step 3: Heat grill or skillet over medium-high and lightly oil. Cook, turning regularly, until browned and beef reaches 160°F (71°C).
  4. Step 4: Melt butter over low heat; add garlic and cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant but not browned. Stir in parsley.
  5. Step 5: Add cheddar during the final minute or just after cooking so it softens. Brush beef with garlic butter.
  6. Step 6: Serve warm with pickles, onion, optional mini buns, and burger sauce. Keep raw-beef utensils separate from cooked food.
